As a founding partner and Chief Executive Officer of Full Spectrum, Mr. Edwards is responsible for the overall direction of the company. Both internally and externally, Mr. Edwards is the company pace setter.
He maintains high-level relationships with elected officials, corporate leaders, community leaders and others who may impact the Full Spectrum business environment. Serving on several boards, Mr. Edwards is actively engaged within the Harlem community and beyond. He currently serves as the Board Chair of Harlem Business Alliance and the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood. As Chairman of the Harlem Business Alliance, Mr. Edwards continues to guide HBA’s mission as Harlem’s strongest advocate for strong local business entrepreneurship. Other board participation includes the Harlem Waterfront Board, Harlem Police Athletic League Alumnae Assoc., Minority Business Leadership Council, and the New Majority. Mr. Edwards is also Trustee Emeritus of the Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation, based in Washington DC.
Mr. Edwards has been a driving force in the growth of the New Majority Business Alliance, an important association of Latino, Asian and African American Business. Among other things, Mr. Edwards has represented Full Spectrum in trade missions to Vietnam, China, Brazil and Senegal. He has used his 40 years of in the trenches entrepreneurial business experience to effectively position the company for business opportunities in local and international markets. His widely recognized integrity and willingness to take a stand and make the hard decisions are critical to Full Spectrum’s success.
In February 2007 Mr. Edwards was cited as one of the ten most influential Harlemites by the New York Daily News.
Carlton A. Brown Chief Operating Officer
Carlton A. Brown is a founding partner and Chief Operating Officer of Full Spectrum. He is a 1973 graduate of Princeton University - School of Architecture and Urban Planning
and has studied real estate finance at New York University. He
worked for architecture and planning firms until he joined AT&T as a
manager in the real estate division. During his 10-year tenure at AT&T, he
directed the development and construction of over $2.0 billion of real estate
for the company.
Mr. Brown has used his educational and corporate experience to shape Full Spectrum’s real estate development activities. He has been responsible for the development, deployment
and implementation of high performance and sustainable building technologies and strategies.
Mr. Brown is a long term proponent of sustainability. In 1990, he led a
multi-disciplinary consultancy to the Cape Verde Islands, West Africa that developed an approach for
sustainable development projects.
Mr. Brown’s vision for Full Spectrum has led to the firm's recognition as a national leader in the development of affordable green, smart buildings in emerging urban markets.
The firm's central theme is that all communities regardless of race, ethnicity or income are entitled to a sustainable future
and Mr. Brown's role is to see that all Full Spectrum development projects meet
these high performance standards.
Mr. Brown has served on several boards including the NY Chapter, AIA; the Business Resource & Investment Service Center (BRISC) of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone; BEN Asset Group; and is the current board chair of 651 Arts. He has received numerous commendations from various organizations for his leadership and civic engagement including the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Brown has served on the NYC High Performance Building Task Force and the NYC
Brownfield Task Force. In September 2006 Mr. Brown was
the only developer appointed to NYC Mayor Bloomberg’s Sustainability Advisory Board. This board’s mission is to address the important environmental issues that face the entire
City and to a large extent will determine the viability of NYC as a community by 2030.

Yvonne R. Isaac General Manager
Yvonne R. Isaac is the Vice President and General Manager at Full Spectrum of NY. She is responsible for corporate and business operations and leads business units that provide fee-based services and project/construction management services for the firm’s development projects. She is also responsible for the management of all the firm’s development projects that are in construction and for new business development outside the NYC metropolitan area.
Prior to joining the firm in 2004, she spent 12 years with Bovis Lend Lease where she was a Senior Vice President and led the Southeast region’s consulting and project management services group. She has been an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture & Planning and the Pratt Institute of City & Regional Planning. Major engagements have included work with the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games; Grady Health Systems Community Healthcare; Atlanta Public Schools Capital Improvement program; Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia; Evander Holyfield Foundation and the Woodruff Arts Center.
Ms. Isaac is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Urban & Environmental Science) and Polytechnic University (Transportation Planning & Engineering) where she received Master of Science degrees. She is a trustee of the Sarah Lawrence College Board of Trustees and a member of its Alumnae/i Board.
Carlton M. Arrendell Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Arrendell assumes primary responsibility for managing institutional real estate equity and debt relationships for the company. He also has managerial responsibility for development projects from conception through stabilization.
Prior to joining the Full Spectrum, he was the Chief Investment Officer for the AFL-CIO Investment Trust and was responsible for originating and structuring complex public/private mixed-use developments as well as structuring market-rate and affordable housing developments. Other responsibilities included managing marketing and investor relations for two funds totaling $6 billion. Prior to the Investment Trust, he worked as a Regional Manager for the Union Labor Life Insurance Company where he originated and structured commercial mortgages for the Company’s forward-commitment and permanent loan programs.
Mr. Arrendell earned his BA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park and his JD from the George Mason University School of Law. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for Atlas America, Inc. (ATLS) and serves on the Audit Committee. He is a full member of the Urban Land Institute, the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy, the Maryland State Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar Association. He also serves on the University of Maryland’s Special Advisory Board to the President.
The New York Office The
Harlem-based New York City office is home to a staff of 16 development analysts,
operations managers, finance and administrative staff. Full Spectrum has
been in Harlem since its inception in 1988. The firm has remained committed to
its community through the down times as well as the latest iteration of the
Harlem Renaissance which it helped to spearhead with the development of
1400 on 5th condominiums.
The Jackson Office
In February 2007, the firm opened its first expansion office in Jackson, Mississippi. The office was established to serve the firm's
Old Capitol Green development in downtown Jackson, and post-Katrina Initiative projects in New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
